Hi Susan! Just found this website! See you on Tuesday evening!
I had a blast at congress! I sure hope to go next year.
I had the best time in SanAntonio!!! It is a beautiful city and Congress was great as well. I enjoyed meeting new people and learning new things............Thank you ONS
Alisa,
Did you used to work at BMC-Montclair in Birmingham?
So, got any tips on how to make the most of this experience? I am a little overwhelmed... where should I start? How do you network when there are so many faces? I would like this to be an educational experience something tangible I can walk away with. ( and NO I don't mean "stuff", I mean knowledge, hands on, user friendly, working knowledge!) Any tips
Kudos to the early runners, walkers, and wheelers who participated in the ONS Foundation/Pfizer Fun Run/Walk & Wheelchair. Then we were on to the 28th Mara Mogensen Flaherty Memorial Lectureship presented by Mary Hughes from MD Anderson - "Sexuality and Cancer: The Final Frontier for Nurses." Mary's talk framed this topic well and gave attendees many tips on how to support their patients. Our annual Business meeting and Town Hall was well attende... [read more]
An early start to the day was the ONCC breakfast at which honors were given to Heather Mackey - AOCN of the year, Faith Chennette - OCN of the year, Elaine Sein - Pearl Moore Certification Champion, and Roswell Park Cancer Institute - Employer Recognition. Barb Bancroft was the keynote speaker - Livin', Lovin' and Learnin' through the Years. She was outstanding and everyone left feeling good about our professon. The Bench to the Bedside lecture -... This is my first Congress as president and I thought I would post impressions each day for members not here to "experience" Congress. If you are here and read this, add to my impressions. First, as everyone can see, we are monitoring information about the H1N1 flu and not only posting information on the Congress site, but have information available onsite for attendees. Everywhere I turn, I see hand sanitizers and everyone I talk with say they ar... [read more]
Barbara, it was so great to meet you this morning...finally! I was awe-struck, as I've heard so many great things about you, and not to mention I am currently reaping the benefits of your labor of love in NOEP. (It's still a lot of work, but I absolutely love it, so my heart outpaces my feet.) Have a wonderful remaining Congress. I look forward to speaking with you again!!
Brenda, it was so wonderful to meet you this morning! I look forward to talking with you again sometime! Congress is definitely rockin' Texas-style. Now, if I can only get you to Twitter...

Hi Mary,
Where are you staying? Alisa
Hi Carole, see you at the SIG meeting. Alisa
If anyone needs a hotel room for Thursday 4/30 through Sunday, 5/3 (3 nights), I prepaid for the Emily Morgan Hotel and could transfer the reservation to an interested party, as I will no longer be using this reservation. Please email me at carrie.stricker@uphs.upenn.edu if you are interested. Carrie
Does the shuttle pick up at the Sheraton Gunter?
Rebecca...my roommate has just cancelled and that leaves me with a nice (I hope) room with two double (or queen) beds at the Palacio del Rio, across the street from the conference center. I leave at 2 this afternoon for SAT from Philadelphia. Please call my cell phone, 215-593-5377 if you are interested. I'd love the company! Suzanne
Patty, check out this website: http://tinyurl.com/cujvo7 It is the trip planner for the bus. The website says that it'll cost you $1.10 for the ride which will take a few minutes. I tried it. There were several routes. When you put the address in, for the street names use "S" for south and "E" for east. Happy, safe travels.
I will be there and look forward to meeting you!

Is anyone else staying at the Marriott Plaza? It is not a convention hotel but about 3 blocks away in the opposite direction of the designated hotels.
My question is, is there any transportation from that hotel to the convention? I am sure the shuttles won't go there and I have a bad hip so walking will be difficult. I did not book the original trip.
Thanks
Patty
